Travel Information

This section is mainly for guests traveling from outside Turkey. Below you’ll find guidance on flights, routes, and how to reach Gümüşlük.

Flights to Bodrum / Kos
  • From Amsterdam:
    • Amsterdam → Istanbul → Bodrum (BJV) (e.g. Turkish Airlines)
    • Direct: Amsterdam → Bodrum (BJV) (TUI, Corendon)
    • Direct: Amsterdam → Kos (KGS), then ferry to Bodrum
  • From Other Cities in Europe:
    • Via Istanbul → Bodrum (BJV)
    • Via Athens → Kos (KGS), then ferry to Bodrum
  • From East Africa:
    • Turkish Airlines via Istanbul → Bodrum (BJV) is usually the most convenient option
Getting from the Airport / Port to Gümüşlük
  • From Milas–Bodrum Airport (BJV): taxis and private transfers are the easiest option; public transport is available but usually requires changes and takes longer.
  • From Bodrum ferry port (arriving from Kos): taxis, rental cars, or public transport onward to Gümüşlük.
When to Arrive
  • If you’d like to join the Friday welcome drinks (26 June), we recommend arriving latest by Friday noon.
  • Arriving 1–2 days early gives you time to settle in and enjoy Gümüşlük before the wedding day.
Train & Overland Travel
For those who prefer slower or more sustainable travel, it’s possible to reach Istanbul by train via Eastern Europe (including overnight routes). From Istanbul, you can continue to Bodrum by long-distance bus, ferry combinations, or by renting a car.
Visa Information
  • European passport holders (including Swiss nationals) do not need a visa to travel to Turkey.
  • East African passport holders require a visa. You can apply for an e-Visa via konsolosluk.gov.tr.

Accommodation

We recommend staying in Gümüşlük, so the wedding location is within walking distance (or a short taxi ride). The Bodrum peninsula is quite large, for example, if you stay in Bodrum centre, you can be around an hour away from Gümüşlük.
